Now share the story. When Jawa Motorcycles launched its two new bikes in India, it also gave us a special preview of its upcoming factory custom Bobber motorcycle, the Jawa Perak.
Expected to be launched in India sometime inthe new Jawa Perak is claimed to be the country's first factory custom motorcycle, and also the most affordable Bobber style motorcycle. The bike we saw at the launch was a pre-production motorcycle, and it's too soon to say how much of it will make it to the production bike. However, the company has already revealed a fair bit about the bike and here are five things you need to know about the upcoming Jawa Perak.
While the company did not officially announce any details with regards to the name of the motorcycle, a little online search told us that the Perak name has significance to a Czechoslovakian urban legend from Prague from World War II, called - Perak, the Spring Man.
More like a superhero figure that came into existence in the years following the war, quite an apt name for the bike, in our opinion. As already mentioned, the Jawa Perak is a factory custom motorcycle having a Bobber design. The bike comes with this classic styling dressed in a lovely shade of Matt Grey with gold highlights on the tank and side panel.
The Perak also comes with a Bobber-style single seat in tan leather, while the rear monoshock positioned underneath it. The entire bike gets black treatment with the engine, spoked wheels and other panels all painted in black.
The new Jawa Perak will come with a host of additional features and equipment, compared to the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two.

Suspension duties will be taken care of by front telescopic forks and rear monoshocks. The pre-production bike at the event came with a regular round halogen headlamp. The Jawa Perak uses the same engine as the other two but has a slightly bigger bore. This has aided in increasing the displacement to cc and the power and torque output are slightly higher too at 30 bhp and 31 Nm, compared to the 27 bhp and 28 Nm torque developed by the cc single-cylinder engine.
The engine will come mated to the same six-speed gearbox as the existing Jawa bikes that are on sale in India. However, the exact launch date or month is still unknown, save for the fact that it will happen sometime in We expect the Perak to compete with the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic series, based on the price tag and engine output. It's for people who like to cruise and have a good riding experience. Its a bobber and India's first economical bobber. Pros - Very good balance, High power, Seat height is low so helps for short riders, More beautiful than your Girlfriend, raking is good, Ride posture very straight and relaxing.
Cons-Suspension is on the stiffer side adjustable thoughEngine heats up fast, Light is halogen so less bright, Low ground clearance, Sound with db killer is not good enough. Its a masterpiece, considering the brand name and the quality of riding feel it offers, the style, tge ergonomics mann everything and the quality of refinement of engine.
Good one. Value for money. After 6 months of booking, i got my perak. The bike got an appealing look. I was attracted with its bobber style. I have bought it for daily commuting. Acceleration and performance wise its pretty good. O in just about 8 seconds. Dual channel abs totally helps in controlling the bike when you are riding at more than kmph. I am riding this bike continuously from the past 20 days and thats the pros i felt about this bike.
Now talking about the cons. First thing first, the odometer position is totally way forward, while riding, the rider cannot see the down side of the odometer as its face is way forward.
Next thing, suspensions are poor, if you are riding at more than 50kmph, it cannot protect you from even small potholes, you will feel super uncomfortable. At even 25kmph, you cannot run over a speed breaker, as the bike will hit the ground due to low ground clearance. Its a super hard bike with poor suspension. Next thing, the horn is very bad as compared to its look. Even activa scooter has better horn than perak. Another thing, the mileage i am getting is about kmpl while company claims it to be 35 kmpl and thats too low.
Last thing, the side stand is small and it cannot stand on off-road surface as it has a risk to fall down. Final words, its a small ride city bike, that can only be ridden on flat and clean road with no bumps at all which is not possible on indian roads. So buy only if you are super comfortable in accepting big shocks on small pits for spending around 2. A beast I was waiting for. I am a person who likes to keep a bike for long period of time to start with.
I own a pulsardts-i model. It's been 11 years and still my favourite one in Indian market and road conditions. Also, I'm 5, I had a test ride today, and let me tell you all my confusion and doubts are cleared. Yes, I expected the bike to be very short, but it's not, unless you cross 6,3. The power is phoenomenal right from the scratch. It's a powerful, yet safe to ride bike. Ground clearance was something I wanted to witness and I found it's quite low for Indian roads, but if you are a careful rider, it shouldn't bother.Thank you!
